Barinder Virk, DVM

Dr. Virk received her Doctorate in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology and has been a valuable member of our team since 2015. Her expertise in internal medicine, diagnostics, and preventative medicine makes her a valuable asset to our practice. Dr. Virk’s love for animals is evident in everything she does. She takes great joy in seeing pets go from sad-faced to wagging tails and is dedicated to helping all of her patients lead happy and healthy lives. Dr. Virk enjoys reading and taking nature walks when she’s not at the clinic or spending time with her family.

She has been happily married for 20 years and has two young boys, aged 9 and 12. Interestingly, Dr. Virk had aspirations of becoming a teacher when she was a child, but her love for animals led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. We are lucky to have Dr. Virk as a wonderful leader to our team. Her passion, expertise, and commitment to helping animals make her a true asset to our practice.

Dr. Kahlon

Kenwar Kahlon, DVM

Dr. Kahlon is our newest Veterinarian at MVVC. He is a local in the area and spent his early life growing up in Fremont, CA. He attended Niles Elementary, Centerville Jr. High, and Washington High School (Go Huskies!). He’s had a love for animals since a young age and eventually decided to make a career out of it. After graduating from UC Santa Cruz with a major in Biology, he was admitted into Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. After the 3 year didactic course, he shifted to the University of Florida, where he completed his clinical and final year of veterinary school. Outside of caring for your pets, Dr. Kahlon enjoys many activities, such as playing basketball, football, hiking, and snowboarding. He has one pet of his own, Bhaloo, a two-year-old Pitbull. Dr. Kahlon is also Feline Fear Free certified, allowing stressed and anxious cats to feel more at ease during their visit! Cindy Edelman, DVM

Dr. Cynthia Edelman is an Associate Veterinarian with a deep passion for animal care. She holds a BS in Animal Science from UC Davis and a BVMS from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. With over 20 years of experience in veterinary practice, Dr. Cindy has developed a professional interest in internal medicine, dermatology, behavior, and avian medicine. Dr. Cindy takes pride in providing thorough and compassionate care that strengthens the human-animal bond. Her dedication to her patients and their well-being is evident in her approach to veterinary medicine. In her free time, Dr. Cindy enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, and photography. A fun fact about Dr. Cindy is that she was raised in Fremont, left for education, and returned after 10 years to provide care to East Bay companion animals. She has been an Associate Veterinarian at Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic for 16 years and is returning from hiatus to continue her passion for animal care. Dr. Cindy is also a pet owner herself and shares her life with Macy, their service dog.

Veterinary Assistant

Meet Gerardo Orozco, a dedicated Vet Assistant at Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic. With 2.5 years of experience, Gerardo’s passion for animals shines through in his compassionate care. A graduate of Washington High School, he prides himself on treating every patient like his beloved pet—with kindness and respect. In his free time, Gerardo enjoys immersing himself in literature, exploring the great outdoors through hiking adventures, and indulging in the occasional movie or show. With his warm demeanor and commitment to excellent veterinary care, Gerardo is a valued Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic team member.

She obtained her education from Carrington College’s San Leandro Campus, where she laid the foundation for her passion-driven career in veterinary medicine. Ariana takes immense pride in getting to know each patient personally, ensuring their comfort and well-being during their visit. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and her beloved fur baby, Kobi. Introducing Katie Robinson, the dedicated Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.) at Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic. With an impressive 14 years of experience, Katie brings expertise and compassion to every aspect of her work. A graduate of Carrington College, she takes immense pride in providing top-notch veterinary care and ensuring pain-free anesthesia for her patients. Veterinary Assistant

Introducing Cathy Dutra, a part-time veterinary assistant at Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic. She is a graduate of San Jose State University and takes pride in communicating positively with each patient as they discuss the reason for their visit. In her free time, Cathy teaches dog obedience for two local dog clubs. She also competes with her own dogs in various activities, including Agility, Obedience, Rally, and Conformation.

Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist

Meet Shiraz Ansari, the friendly and dedicated Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic Receptionist. While not a practicing veterinarian, Shiraz has excelled in his role for the past 7-8 months, providing exceptional customer service to everyone who walks through the clinic doors. Currently pursuing a degree in 2D Animation and Directing at Ohlone College, Shiraz is passionate about creativity and collaboration. He takes pride in assisting colleagues and clients, striving to contribute positively to the clinic’s environment and success. In his free time, Shiraz enjoys drawing and leading animated projects with colleagues, constantly striving to improve his skills and expand his portfolio.

A graduate of Cal State East Bay with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a concentration in Management, she is dedicated to ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient care at the clinic. Meet Kayla Mireles, our dedicated Client Service Representative at Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic. With 6 years of experience in the veterinary field, Kayla is passionate about building strong relationships with both clients and their pets to ensure a fear-free experience. A proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, she takes pride in getting to know each client and pet personally to provide the best care possible. Outside of work, Kayla enjoys camping, spending time with her son and fiancé, playing video games, and cheering on the Raiders and Warriors. Kayla looks forward to meeting you and your furry family members!
